I paid full price to go enjoy the experience. I just feel very let down and disappointed and that I just wasted my money. I've been to other tanning salons in the past and have always been very happy with them. Needless to say, I will definitely not be signing up for a membership here now. I'm willing to drive way out of my way to use another salon.
They have a robe for you to put on to go to the mystic spray tan room after. I put it on and go to the room(feeling clueless and nervous about the whole thing due to the lack of information) only to find that they didn't put the tanning cartridge in the machine. So then I have to walk to the front counter(in my robe) to tell them. One of the girls comes and puts the cartridge in. At this point I'm thinking, "what the hell, I'll just go for it and hope for the best." I'm still nervous as I'm typing this and hope that it doesn't end up looking terrible. As I'm leaving, one of the girls is sitting on the couch with what appeared to be a boyfriend and the other is behind the counter on her cellphone. I have to interrupt them to find out how long I have to wait before I can shower.
Love the shop. Everyone that works there is kind and helpful. Would they all my friends to go there. Thanks for all your help.
I had my third visit there today, I have used their stand up tanning bed three times now, the ladies all have been very nice...I just wish they had a pricing list of all the prices that we could physically look at other then having to be told by the girls...
I am NOT one to complain abt a business or even take my time to write reviews. I signed up here at planet beach in walker abt a week ago. The staff at the front desk are very nice and friendly but very uneducated abt the packages and prices on things here. The worker that set my package up informed me abt the samples of oil on the counter during my first visit that actually boost your tan! So of course I thought, "Why not!" And gave it a try! (Which I loved! And had so much in just the sample size!) During another visit, they had a sampler size of another product out. As I went to take one after reading abt it, the front desk worker informed me that there was a charge of what she "thought" was 2 dollars and some change! For a SAMPLER?! I told her I changed my mind abt taking one bc I didn't realized that there was a fee for it. I informed her that I took another product off of the counter once before that I also thought was a sampler and that I did not pay for it. Oops. She told me not to worry abt it. She looked all over the sampler box for a price. Which was very awkward bc there was no price on the box or else I wouldn't have TOOK one!! There is also no prices on any of the individual one time use lotions (which I bought one of). Or even big bottles of lotion!! I told the front desk worker what my price range was for a brazing lotion and she picked one of for me and told me the price. I would rather SEE a price on these product rather than being told!! I bought a package of low and medium pressure beds. The medium pressure bed (which includes the face lamp bulbs) only has one working bulb on the far side of the bed. Allowing only one side of my face to be exposed to the light. I feel like if people are paying to be a member then the beds should fully work!! I won't be buying anymore tans from here ;(
Without going into long drawn out details, I think it best described as saying I've had the worst week that anyone could imagine. So after spending two hours tearing my house apart for the keys that were lost by a drunkard earlier today, I finally find them. All I can think of is getting away from it all and doing something for myself to make a small positive difference in my frustrating world. I race 30 mins to my local spa. I get there at 8:25. Yay, I made it I thought. Finally something went right. I get to the counter and was denied a tan. There was ONE customer in the whole store besides me and they were already in there, so I was told to come back tomorrow. Which I told her I couldn't. You can't imagine the disappointment that fell over me. It was the straw that broke the camels back. I've sat here in my car and cried for the last 20 mins. You just don't know how much a small act of kindness would have made a huge difference to your customer. You were still open for 35 more mins. Both myself and the other customer would have been finished before 9pm. The employee was sitting there on her cell phone doing absolutely nothing. If getting out of there at exactly 9pm is what's most important to your business, then Planet Beach must not be the right place for me.
This was the worst experience that I've ever had at a tanning salon. I'm usually very passive and would never complain, but it really was that bad of an experience for me. I went in to use the hydration station and get a spray tan. Nothing was explained at all. I had to keep asking and asking questions. I was also inquiring about information on the different "spa" packages with intent to sign up for a membership. I do have to say that the girl at the front was very sweet and informative on the packages. She walked me to the hydration room and set it up for me, but didn't tell me that the time was already starting. It was set for 20 minutes, but by the time I got in, I only had 17 minutes left. The machine looked and smelled terrible....very old. It didn't get heated up to where I felt like it was doing anything at all until I had about 7 minutes left. Is there not a warming up process of this machine that you do beforehand? The vibration on it was also broken. I feel I should've been told about that beforehand because I wouldn't have spent that much money to use it had I known.
